Meet SuperWEIRD

An automation roguelite where single-use JunkDroids turn out to be surprisingly useful: automate production network, rebuild a broken world piece by piece, and stop the Goofy Goo before it consumes everything. Play solo or in coop.

Why SuperWEIRD?

We're the studio behind while True: learn(), Craftomation 101, and Learning Factory. As you can see, we already have several automation games and then we thought — why not make an automation roguelike with co-op? With a map that you assemble piece by piece?

We didn’t arrive at this unusual genre mashup overnight. Below, you can see how long and hard we worked, running thousands of playtests, to figure out automation in the game.

Public sources!

The thing is, our art style didn’t come together instantly either — at first we made an in-game shop (which doesn’t even exist in the current version anymore) in SIX DIFFERENT STYLES before we finally found the one we loved.

The upside? Our very first playable prototype is now publicly available — in all six styles! If you work with the Defold engine, check out our SuperWEIRD gamekit. Feel free to grab it and use it however you want. Good luck and have fun!

FAQ

Will the game become available for Chromebooks?

Yes, we are designing the game to be compatible with Chromebooks from day one. This means you can use it in class.

Is it possible to play the game inside our school network?

Yes, it is very likely possible, since the educator’s device acts as the server. The game does not rely on a central server outside of the school network.

Is any student data shared outside?

No, all data is stored only on the devices where the game is being played. If an educator is hosting a world for students, all the data is stored solely on the educator’s device.

What curriculum does the game cover?

We are targeting the NGSS MS ETS-1 Engineering Design standards. However, please wait for the official announcement of the educational content pack for confirmation.
